VLADIMIR SCHKOLNIK Chairman of the Board, “Kazatomprom” Vladimir Sergeevich Schkolnik was born 17 February 1949 in Serpukhov, Moscow Region. After graduating from Moscow Physics and Engineering Institute in 1973 started his career as physics engineer at the Mangyshlaksky Power Plant. From 1996 to 1999 – Minister of Science, President of the Academy of Science of Kazakhstan; From 1999 to 2000 – Minister of Energy, Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan; From 2000 to 2002 – Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan; From 2002 to 2006 – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan; From 2006 to 2007 – Minister of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan; From 2007 to 2008 – Deputy Head of Adminis‐ tration of the President of Kazakhstan; From February 2008 to May 2009 ‐ Minister of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan; In May 2009 became the Head of National Uranium Mining Company “Kazatomprom” |
